Hey! I got Interviewed!

2 Feb 2022 3:10 PM | Anonymous

A very nice lady named Kayla Rachelle Orlando recently contacted me. I don't remember her exact words, although it as something like this:

"Hi,

I work for FamilySearch and we would like to write about you and your newsletter."

After an exchange of email messages and a couple of telephone calls, she wrote the article. I am flattered. I don't remember my life being that interesting.

NOTE to anyone who is about to be interviewed: See if you can arrange to be interviewed by Kayla Rachelle Orlando. She has "a way" with words that makes even the most humdrum life story sound interesting.

If you would like to read Kayla's words and also suffer with a bit of information about some of my life experiences, look at the FamilySearch Blog at https://www.familysearch.org/en/blog/dick-eastman-genealogy-newsletter.

I and my husband Fred met you many years ago at a conference in Augusta, ME. You had a sidekick then, whose name I can't now remember, but I enjoyed meeting you both and was very much impressed with your computer knowledge and affable personality. I also enjoyed your CompuServe forum very much and gained a lot of knowledge on just about everything genealogical as well as computing in those early days of the internet. I also enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Thank goodness you haven't changed. Still enjoying your writing after all these years. Thank you for being there

Hi Dick, I KNOW you helped me! In 2004 my half cousin was looking for his grandfather and you suggested to look in a Michigan phone book to find his family. It worked he found us. It started my journey into searching out my family tree. Thank You! Great interview! Shelley Niles

Congratulations. Very nice article. You and I met and chatted a couple times at Jamboree and at a couple of the dinners you hosted. Have been a subscriber and advocate of your newsletter for years.
